This is a unit-based role dedicated to providing mentorship, guidance, and support to novice nurses, with a particular focus on the night shift. This position plays a key role in fostering professional growth, confidence, and clinical competence to enhance nurse retention, engagement, and long-term success within the organization. This role serves as a resource and role model, embodying nursing excellence and professionalism while supporting South County Health’s mission, vision, and values.

• Provide direct mentorship, coaching, and support to novice nurses during the night shift.
• Promote professional development, confidence, and critical thinking skills in new nurses by assisting with complex clinical situations, multitasking, prioritization, and problem‑solving within the unit.
• Deliver exceptional, high‑quality patient care through your own assignment while role‑modeling excellence in clinical practice and professionalism.
• Foster a supportive, engaging, and collaborative environment to enhance team performance and nurse satisfaction.
• Demonstrate commitment to quality care, patient safety, and continuous improvement.
• Uphold nursing professionalism while aligning with South County Health’s mission and values.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in acute care nursing required.
• Prior charge nurse and preceptor experience required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and leadership skills.
• Self‑motivated, engaging, supportive, and committed to excellence in nursing practice.
