About the Role
We are actively seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a Welsh‑medium primary school in Barry. Rated Outstanding by ESTYN, this school is looking for someone to support Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils and enhance their learning experience.
The role involves supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 and KS2. You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills to complement this role.
The Welsh medium school is looking for someone to complement the school ethos and help provide the best education experience for their learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work on a 1:1 and small group basis to engage pupils in their learning
- Support the class teacher with a variety of tasks and prepare for the day
- Supervise the children through lunch breaks
- General administrative duties
- Work as part of a dynamic team and contribute towards the school's culture & ethos
- Be passionate about providing children with the best education experience
What we look for in you?
- The ability to speak Welsh – Essential as the role is based in a Welsh medium primary school
- An enthusiastic individual with a passion for education
- An interest in supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning
- Experience of working with children and young people
- An ability to effectively and positively manage challenging behaviour
- Professional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Good general standard of education (GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths) and IT proficiency
