Job Overview
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL ONLY ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM STAFF CURRENTLY EMPLOYED BY Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. Working in a highly pressurised environment to provide a professional, efficient and effective administrative service for the Department. Using initiative in sometimes complex situations to ensure that patients are booked in line with local and national Access targets.
Responsibilities- Manage own workload with minimum supervision.
- Answer telephone enquiries promptly and maintain confidentiality.
- Use Priority Picking or Primary Target Lists to send appropriate patients for future new and follow‑up clinic slots, ensuring at least six weeks’ notice.
- Deal with telephone requests in a timely manner and identify patients who can attend at short notice, contacting them when cancellations occur.
- Monitor patients who fail to contact the Department to arrange appointments; send reminder letters on time and remove patients from the waiting list in line with local policies and Welsh Assembly guidelines where necessary.
- Ensure data held on the WPAS system is accurate, up to date and fit for purpose, responding to validation and data quality checks.
- Provide reception cover for Orthopaedics during leave periods.
- Obtain and prepare case notes for the Department in a timely manner from various locations on Glan Clwyd’s site.
- The ability to speak Welsh is desirable;
English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
