Inspiring Food & Nutrition Teacher Required - Rhyl Secondary School
Start Date: January 2026
Daily Pay: £173 - £190 (Competitive, based on experience and scale)
We are actively recruiting a dedicated and Qualified Teacher (QTS) for Food Technology/Food & Nutrition to join a committed team in Rhyl, Wales starting in January. This is your chance to shape young minds through essential practical education.

Duties:
- Plan and Teach engaging Food Technology lessons to students across Key Stages (likely age 11-16).
- Deliver Practical Sessions (cooking) safely, ensuring all hygiene rules are strictly followed.
- Manage the Classroom and resources to create a positive and orderly learning environment.
- Assess Student Work (practical and written) and track their progress to help them achieve their best.
- Set Clear Expectations for behaviour and work, maintaining high standards in the Food Technology room.
- Maintain Equipment and ensure the kitchen area is clean, safe, and fully stocked for lessons.
- Contribute to the School by attending staff meetings and sharing in the wider life of the school (e.g., extra-curricular clubs or tutor duties).
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - You must have a formal teaching qualification recognised in the UK.
- Strong Subject Knowledge in Food Technology, including cooking, nutrition, and food science.
- Experience teaching Food Technology to secondary school students (Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4/GCSE).
- Excellent Classroom Management skills to ensure a safe and productive learning space.
- Current Enhanced DBS Check (or be willing to apply for one).
