Learning Support Assistant – Full Time - Term Time Only

Permanent, Term Time Only Must Hold Full UK Driving License

We are looking for a Full Time Learning Support Assistant to provide support to our Young People for 40 hours per week, Term Time Only. You will be supporting our young people to develop by providing physical and emotional support. The role is about working as part of a team to maintain a stable, happy and caring environment that puts the health, safety and welfare of our young people first.

Ultimately you will be a Role Model to our Students.

Pengwern College:

Cambian Pengwern College is a 52‑week placement provision, has a proud and successful tradition of supporting students between the ages of 16 – 25 who have Moderate to Severe Learning Disabilities and Complex Needs, including some challenging behaviours, to gain valuable life skills, qualifications and confidence to support their onward journey towards independence. The Head of College and the dedicated team recognise this success and want to offer this opportunity to a wider range of young people and adults as part the ongoing developments that are taking place across all areas of the college.

The purpose of the school is to prepare students for the demands of adult life through staff expertise and specialist approaches. This included providing a nurturing and therapeutic environment that encourages students to flourish academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

What we need from you:
  • Must be flexible with a passion to develop your skills
  • Good attitude and understanding of students with a learning disability
  • Driver to be able to drive college vehicles – desirable
  • The successful candidate will be primarily working in providing guidance, support and encouragement to young people in a variety of settings including classroom, education and off‑site activities.
