Looking for a challenging and rewarding role? Do you have the skills and motivation to join our dynamic team? We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, qualified and HCPC/NMC registered Anaesthetic ODP (or RN with an anaesthetic qualification) to join our Theatre teams in BCUHB 'Central' - covering Glan Clwyd, Abergele and Llandudno (Ortho) Theatres.
Our skilled Anaesthetic team cover a wide range of specialities including:
Maxillo Facial, Urology, Colorectal, Vascular, Gynaecology, Breast, ENT, Trauma, Orthopaedics, Emergency and Obstetrics. Other areas covered are Ophthalmic theatres, pain clinic, community dentals, ECT, MRI, CT, Gastro and cardio version lists.
Anaesthetic ODP’s/Anaesthetic RN’s are part of the hospital cardiac arrest/trauma team and respond to emergency bleeps whilst working closely with the ITU, supporting internal and external patient/critical care transfers.
All practitioners are encouraged to participate in the training and development of students and also to enable their own personal development.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidence-based patient care. Clinical expertise is utilised during all phases of the peri-operative period. Skilled assistance is provided in the anaesthetic, surgical and the post operative care of the patient.
The post holder will work collaboratively and co-operatively with other members of the multi-disciplinary team, meeting the needs of the patient whilst under no direct supervision. Assist in the management and organisation of clinical and satellite areas, implementing improvements to working practices as identified by audit/clinical trials. Participate in the education and development of other staff members.
The post holder will have the opportunity and will be encouraged and supported to utilise their clinical skills during the anaesthetic, surgical and post anaesthetic care phases of the peri-operative period.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post;
English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

- Diploma He or BSc (Hons) in Operating Department Practice (UK)
- Teaching / Mentoring Qualification
