Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Registered Nurse within the new Health Protection Service (HPS).
The Health Protection Service will work in partnership to respond to health protection measures and threats as required. The role will evolve over the year, and the post holder will work either at their designated work base or as part of an agile, patient‑facing outreach team at any location within North Wales.
Working alongside other agencies such as Public Health Wales, the HPS will aim to protect and improve health and well‑being and reduce health inequalities for the people of North Wales.
The Deputy Manager supports the Team Manager and Clinical Service Manager in the clinical, operational management and staff development of the HPS.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, forward‑thinking experienced nurse with excellent organisational skills and the ability to work autonomously.
Main duties of the jobAs part of the Health Protection Service, the post holder will:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate evidence‑based nursing care in collaboration with others to meet patient and family needs.
- Assist in the management and organisation of their clinical area and participate in the education, development, and supervision of other staff members.
- Deliver care as part of an agile, patient‑facing outreach team at any location within North Wales.
- Speak Welsh is desirable;
Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome.

Qualifications- NMC registered.
- Evidence of post registration study and training.
Essential criteria:
- Experience of providing holistic nursing care.
- Interest in developing nursing skills.
- Relevant experience of Health Protection.
Desirable criteria:
- Clear understanding of clinical governance framework.
- Implementation of evidence‑based practice.
Essential criteria:
- Clear understanding of contract of care.
- Ability to document details clearly and accurately.
- IT skills.
Desirable criteria:
- Knowledge of incident reporting policy.
Essential criteria:
- Ability to travel between sites in a timely manner.
Essential criteria:
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work under pressure.
Desirable criteria:
- Welsh speaker.
