• Providing and supporting nursing care within the ward environment, acting as named nurse for specific patients.
• Assessing, planning and delivering person-centred nursing care in collaboration with patients, families and carers.
• Accurately observing, communicating with and engaging service users to assess needs and evaluate progress.
• Promoting and adhering to the Clinical Approaches agreed by the Multi-Disciplinary Team.
• Actively participating in quality improvement initiatives, clinical governance and audit processes.
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with NMC standards and HIW regulations.

The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care for patients in a 24-hour setting. The nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients with psychiatric disorders. This includes working closely with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure the highest standard of care and support for patients whilst in hospital.

• Perform nursing assessments, including physical and mental health evaluations.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs.
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols.
• Monitor patients for changes in behaviour, mood, and health conditions.
• Provide support to patients in managing psychiatric symptoms and coping with emotional distress.

• Work closely with the interdisciplinary treatment team to plan and evaluate patient care.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff regarding patient progress and care goals.
• Participate in case conferences, staff meetings, and other clinical discussions.

• Respond to behavioural crises, including de-escalation of aggressive or distressed patients.
• Provide immediate interventions in acute psychiatric emergencies, ensuring patient and staff safety.
• Monitor and ensure the safety of the unit, ensuring adherence to hospital policies and regulations.
