Overview

We are looking to recruit a Development Executive to join our growing Mid-Market team in Wales.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a well-established and ambitious team with a strong reputation in the market. You'll be joining a collaborative environment where relationships matter, success is celebrated, and individuals are empowered to make a genuine impact on the growth of the business.

Whether you're already a successful Business Development Executive looking for your next challenge, or you're currently in an Account Management, Account Handling, or SME-focused role with a real passion for sales and relationship building, we'd love to hear from you.

As Business Development Executive, you will be responsible for identifying, securing, and developing new business opportunities across the Welsh market, building valuable relationships and creating long-term partnerships that drive sustainable growth.

And you won't be doing it alone. We've built the infrastructure, support systems, and resources you need to be successful - from market-leading tools and platforms to expert colleagues, dedicated training, and a culture that champions your development. Everything is in place to help you perform at your best and reach your full potential. We want you to own your area/sector to build for the future whilst representing us within the market.

A key part of this role is developing and nurturing strategic financial institution referral relationships, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys networking, building trust, and creating meaningful business partnerships.

Location

Given the nature of the role, we're flexible on location across Wales. Success in this position comes from being out in the market - meeting clients, strengthening partner relationships, and identifying new opportunities - rather than being office-based, with typically just one day a week spent in the office alongside the wider team.

How you'll make an impact
  • Actively seek and respond to new business opportunities whilst exceeding agreed targets. Whilst results are important, equal emphasis is placed on how you build relationships and represent our business within the market.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key referral and affinity partners, becoming a trusted and valued extension of their network.
  • Regularly engage with partners and prospects across the region, building long-term relationships that generate sustainable new business opportunities.
  • Focus on understanding clients' needs and delivering tailored insurance solutions, leveraging our broad range of products and services.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the team through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and a proactive approach to business development.
  • Attend networking events, trade shows, industry functions, and partner meetings, using your interpersonal skills to identify and maximise new opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with insurers and underwriters to secure the most appropriate solutions for your clients.
  • Present a professional and credible image of Gallagher, promoting our expertise and values at every opportunity.
About You
  • You have experience within the insurance industry and a strong understanding of commercial insurance and client relationship management.
  • You may already be an experienced…
