Engagement and Communication Co-ordinator

Salary: GBP 31,537.00 – 33,699.00 per year

The post will be key in strengthening the voice and participation of young people across the county, leading on the development of effective engagement strategies and increasing the visibility and understanding of the Service's work. The post holder will be responsible for coordinating internal and external communications, managing digital and social media content, supporting promotional campaigns, and ensuring that the views and experiences of young people inform the development of provision.

• Degree in Youth Work or other Youth related discipline.
• Welsh and English GCSE.

• NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in a field relevant to the post, such as marketing, administration, media, communication.
• Registration with the Education Workforce Council as a Youth Worker.
• Other qualifications relatable to Youth Work.

• Experience of consultative and participatory processes when working with diverse groups of young people.
• Experience of planning, developing and delivering consultation events and activities.
• A sound understanding of young people's participation needs.
• A strong understanding of young people's rights and related issues.

• Experience of producing reports, including financial reports, that reflect operational targets and use key data and statistics to inform progress and planning.
• Experience of planning and developing young person-friendly materials, such as interpreting strategies and plans.
• Practical knowledge of the National Participation Standards.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures within a youth work setting.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong facilitation skills, with the ability to engage young people in creative and meaningful ways.
• The ability to gather, analyse and present information in a clear and useful manner.
• An understanding of the principles of children and young people's participation and effective engagement methods.
• Knowledge of the challenges facing young people, particularly those who are hard to reach.
• Effective project organisation and time management skills.
• Proficiency in IT systems and standard software packages.
• An understanding of the importance of safeguarding, equality and safe working practices.

Able to maintain a fluent conversation on a number of everyday subjects, and discuss cases involving the field of work. Able to follow a discussion in Welsh, in Clear Welsh, on familiar matters relating to the post. Able to contribute to the conversation and answer questions.

Understand everyday correspondence on familiar issues erstand longer reports in Clear Welsh and be able to pick up the main points. (help may be required with the vocabulary).

Able to write letters for a specific purpose, e‑mails and short reports in Welsh and English, using vocabulary and simple phrases that are familiar to the field of work. (They will need to be checked before being sent out).

• Ensure that the voices of children and young people in Gwynedd, especially those who are hard to reach, are heard and considered in decision-making.
