Job Summary
Managing daily operation of a sand mine, including supervision of salaried supervisors and hourly employees. Responsibilities include budgeting, mine planning, permitting, contract and contractor management, and community relations.

• Track and maintain costs in the sand mine operation.
• Develop and maintain a safe and environmentally compliant operation with the assistance of the Safety and Environmental Representatives.
• Develop new operational methods to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency.
• Interface with Corporate Mine Planning staff as well as local QC staff to develop short‑term and long‑term mining plans.
• Direct production to meet production goals.
• Minimize overtime, schedule vacations, and manage workforce scheduling.
• Maintain equipment through coordination and scheduling with maintenance personnel.
• Handle purchasing of regular materials and collaborate with Procurement for routine materials.
• Maintain operational compliance with zoning and related permits.
• Develop annual budget for the operation.
• Meet all MSHA and local safety requirements and maintain environmental compliance.
• Act as a company representative in the local community.
• Understand basic financial reporting related to aggregate operations.
• Utilize KPIs to guide production and identify areas for improvement.
• Coordinate with sales to plan for future inventory requirements.
• Adhere to all CEMEX, MSHA, and OSHA rules and regulations and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds.
• Meet or exceed company safety standards.
• Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mining, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• 3 years of mine supervision experience required.

• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) required.
• AutoCAD experience is a plus; desire and ability to learn detailed mining software (Surpac Quarry).
• Ability to work outdoors with occasional physical labor.
• Self‑motivated team player focused on mission accomplishment.

• Capable of working extended hours as needed.
• Ability to undertake required overnight travel as needed.

• Stationary position, traverse, move, transport, and ability to significantly operate equipment.
• Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally; occasional negligible force frequently. Work involves mainly sitting with brief walking or standing.
• Regularly required to talk and hear to communicate with employees and visitors.
