Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Collaborate on Repairs:
Work with estimators and collision repair advisors to assess and repair vehicle damage. - Procure Parts:
Coordinate with the parts team to secure necessary components swiftly. - Perform Precision Repairs:
Adhere to manufacturer guidelines for all repairs. - Document, Document, Document:
Log every material used and repair completed with meticulous detail. - Create Workplace Zen:
Keep your area spotless and organized, championing safety protocols. - Ensure Quality:
Test drive vehicles post-repair to ensure flawless workmanship.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school training or certification in collision repair preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in collision repair and painting.
- Proficiency in repairing and replacing damaged vehicle body parts, including frames, panels, and bumpers.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as MIG welders and paint spray guns.
- I-CAR (Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Strong understanding of auto body repair techniques, including welding, sanding, masking, and painting.
- Familiarity with manufacturer-specific repair procedures and safety guidelines.
- Capability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy parts and standing for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity and the ability to use hand tools and equipment effectively.
- High precision and attention to detail in all repair and painting tasks.
- Commitment to quality workmanship and guest satisfaction.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills to assess damage and determine appropriate repair methods.
- Ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently and accurately.
- Ability to communicate effectively with collision repair advisors and guests.
- Proficient in documenting repair work and explaining technical issues to non-technical individuals.
- Ability to work well within a team and collaborate with colleagues.
- Willingness to assist and support other technicians as needed.
- Willingness to stay updated with the latest collision repair technologies and techniques.
- Ability to adapt to new tools, equipment, and repair procedures.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Adherence to dealership policies, safety standards, and industry regulations.
