Accounts Payable Clerk

Our client is looking for a diligent and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join their finance team in Richards Bay . This role is essential for the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and payments, ensuring smooth financial operations. You will be responsible for maintaining vendor records, reconciling statements, and resolving discrepancies. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of accounts payable procedures, contributing significantly to the financial efficiency of the organization in this coastal Kwa Zulu-Natal hub.

• Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper coding and authorization.
• Prepare and schedule weekly or bi-weekly payment runs.
• Reconcile vendor statements with internal records and resolve any discrepancies.
• Maintain updated vendor files, including W-9s or equivalent tax documentation.
• Respond to vendor inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist with month-end closing procedures related to accounts payable.

• High school diploma or equivalent; a certificate in bookkeeping or accounting is a plus.
• Proven experience in an accounts payable role, preferably 2+ years.
• Familiarity with accounting software and proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
