Quantity Surveyor - Construction

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage costs and contracts for construction projects based in Richards Bay . This hybrid role involves both on-site assessments and remote data analysis, ensuring financial viability and accurate cost control throughout the project lifecycle. You will be responsible for estimating, tendering, and contract administration, providing critical financial insights to project stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mind, excellent negotiation skills, and a comprehensive understanding of construction economics and contractual frameworks.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents for construction projects .
• Manage the tendering process, including evaluating bids and negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Administer construction contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions, and managing variations.
• Monitor project expenditures, track costs against budget, and provide regular financial reports.
• Conduct site visits for verification of work done and preparation of payment certificates.
• Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and manage financial risks effectively.

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Substantial experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
• Proficiency in cost estimation software and standard contract forms (e.g., FIDIC).
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work model .
