Youth Development Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Youth Development Officer to join their Community & Social Care team in Richards Bay . This role is dedicated to empowering young people by facilitating access to educational, recreational, and vocational opportunities that foster personal growth and community engagement. You will collaborate with local schools, NGOs, and government initiatives to design and implement impactful youth programs.

This hybrid role offers a fantastic opportunity to shape the future of youth in the Kwa Zulu-Natal region, blending community fieldwork with flexible remote planning and coordination.

• Design, coordinate, and implement engaging youth development programs and activities.
• Mentorandprovide guidance to young individuals, helping them identify and pursue their personal and career goals.
• Facilitate workshops on life skills, leadership, and vocational training relevant to youth development.
• Build and maintain partnerships with schools, community centres, andother stakeholders supporting youth.
• Assess the needs of the local youth population and adapt programs accordingly.
• Track program participation, outcomes, and provide regular reports on impact.

• Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Education, Community Development, ora related field.
• Minimum of 2years of experience in youth work, community programming, or a related field.
• Proven ability to develop and deliver engaging programmes for young people.
• Strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing youth in Richards Bay .
• Excellent communication, facilitation,and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively both in the field and remotely.
