About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly specialized Rotating Equipment Engineer to join their team in Richards Bay . This role is critical for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and longevity of all rotating machinery within their industrial operations. You will be responsible for the specification, design review, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment such as pumps, compressors, turbines, and motors. This position offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work with complex industrial systems and contribute to the efficiency and safety of major operations.
Key Responsibilities- Specify, select, and procure rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines, etc.) based on process requirements and industry best practices.
- Review engineering designs and vendor proposals for new and existing rotating equipment installations.
- Develop and implement predictive and preventive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide technical expertise and support during equipment installation, commissioning, and start-up.
- Oversee maintenance and repair activities, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and quality standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience focused on rotating equipment in an industrial setting.
- In-depth knowledge of various types of pumps, compressors, turbines, and associated systems.
- Experience with vibration analysis , condition monitoring, and reliability engineering techniques.
- Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., API, ASME).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
