About the Role
Our client is looking for an accomplished Project Engineer to lead and manage chemical processing projects in Richards Bay . This role is responsible for the successful execution of projects from conception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. You will manage project resources, stakeholders, and risks, playing a vital part in the expansion and modernization of our client's chemical infrastructure.
This position requires strong project management skills combined with a solid technical background in chemical engineering.
- Manage all phases of chemical processing projects, including planning, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
- Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules, and track progress against milestones.
- Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure project objectives are met.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Prepare project reports and communicate project status to senior management and stakeholders.
- Ensure effective handover of completed projects to operational teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of project management experience in the chemical or process industry.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering capital projects on time and budget.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., PMP certification is a plus).
- Familiarity with process design, equipment specification, and construction management.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
