About the Role
Our client is seeking a specialized Water Resources Civil Engineer to join their environmental and infrastructure team in Richards Bay . This role focuses on the planning, design, and implementation of sustainable water management systems, including stormwater management, flood control, and water supply infrastructure. You will play a key role in developing solutions that address the unique hydrological challenges of the region, ensuring efficient water use and environmental protection.
This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer passionate about water systems and their impact on community development and ecological balance in Kwa Zulu-Natal .
- Design and manage projects related to stormwater drainage, flood mitigation, and urban hydrology.
- Develop conceptual and detailed designs for water supply and distribution networks.
- Conduct hydrological and hydraulic modeling using industry-standard software.
- Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and environmental management plans.
- Liaise with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders on water-related projects.
- Ensure designs comply with all relevant environmental regulations and engineering best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources or Hydrology.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in water resources engineering, including design and project management.
- Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, SWMM) and GIS tools.
- Strong understanding of hydrological processes and urban water management principles.
- Experience with environmental impact assessments for water infrastructure projects.
