Process Engineer - Petrochemical Plant

Our client is seeking a dedicated Process Engineer with expertise in petrochemical operations to join their facility in Richards Bay. This role is integral to optimizing the efficiency, safety, and environmental performance of complex chemical processes. You will be responsible for analyzing plant operations, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions that enhance productivity and reduce operational costs. • Monitor and analyze plant process data to identify deviations and opportunities for optimization.
• Develop and implement process improvements to enhance yield, reduce energy consumption, and minimize waste.
• Troubleshoot process upsets and equipment failures, providing timely and effective solutions.
• Conduct process hazard analyses (PHAs) and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and R&D teams to support plant goals.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation, and operational procedures.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Process Engineer in a petrochemical or chemical manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of chemical processes, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
• Experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with safety management systems and environmental compliance in the energy sector.
