Our client is seeking a dedicated Aircraft Structures Engineer to join their engineering team in Richards Bay . This role is essential for ensuring the structural integrity, safety, and performance of their aircraft fleet. You will be involved in the analysis, design, modification, and repair of aircraft structures, working closely with maintenance teams and manufacturing specialists. This position requires a strong technical background in structural mechanics and materials science, coupled with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of aviation safety and regulatory compliance within a hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform structural analysis, including stress, fatigue, and damage tolerance assessments using FEA software.
- Design and develop modifications and repairs for aircraft structures, ensuring compliance with airworthiness directives and specifications.
- Collaborate with maintenance personnel to troubleshoot structural issues and implement effective solutions.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, technical reports, and repair schemes.
- Support manufacturing and repair processes, providing technical guidance and oversight.
- Stay updated on new materials, technologies, and regulatory changes affecting aircraft structures.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering with a specialization in Structures.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft structural analysis and design.
- Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software (e.g., ANSYS, NASTRAN).
- Strong understanding of aircraft materials, composite structures, and metallic structures.
- Knowledge of relevant aviation regulations and certification processes (e.g., SACAA, EASA, FAA).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
