Our client is seeking a skilled Control Systems Engineer with expertise in industrial automation to join their team in Richards Bay . This role is crucial for optimizing the performance and reliability of complex industrial processes within the energy and manufacturing sectors. You will design, implement, and maintain advanced control systems, SCADA, and HMI solutions to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
This position offers the chance to work with state-of-the-art technology in a key industrial hub of Kwa Zulu-Natal , contributing to the smooth functioning of critical infrastructure.
- Design, program, and commission PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems for industrial plants and energy facilities.
- Develop and maintain Human-Machine Interface (HMI) applications for process visualization and control.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with control system hardware and software to minimize production downtime.
- Implement process optimization strategies using advanced control techniques.
- Collaborate with process engineers and operations teams to define control system requirements and implement solutions.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and cybersecurity best practices for all implemented control systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, or Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in control systems engineering and industrial automation .
- Proficiency in programming various PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell) and SCADA systems.
- Experience with HMI development software (e.g., Wonderware, Ignition).
- Strong understanding of process control principles, instrumentation, and industrial networking.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently on-site in Richards Bay .
