Senior Chemical Engineer - Process Development

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Chemical Engineer to join their innovative Process Development team in Richards Bay . This role is critical for optimizing existing chemical processes and developing new, scalable manufacturing methodologies. You will lead projects focused on improving efficiency, safety, and sustainability in chemical production, working closely with research chemists and production teams. • Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes for pilot-scale and commercial production.
• Conduct feasibility studies, process simulations, and hazard analyses for new and existing processes.
• Troubleshoot process-related issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and operations teams to ensure seamless process scale-up and transfer.
• Develop and implement process control strategies to ensure product quality and consistency.
• Author technical reports, process documentation, and contribute to patent applications.

• B.Eng. or M.Eng. in Chemical Engineering .
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in process development or optimization within the chemical or petrochemical industry.
• Strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
• Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and data analysis tools.
• Experience with process safety management (PSM) principles and hazard assessment techniques.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
