Energy Trader: -Impact Hybrid Desk

Our client is looking for a skilled and dynamic Energy Trader to join their trading desk in Richards Bay . You will be responsible for executing trades in various energy commodity markets, managing risk, and identifying profitable trading opportunities. This role requires a sharp analytical mind, a deep understanding of market dynamics, and the ability to make quick, informed decisions under pressure.

You will work within a high-performance team, contributing to the company's success in navigating volatile energy markets and optimizing its trading strategies, leveraging real-time market data and sophisticated trading tools.

• Execute trades across various energy commodity markets, including oil, gas, power, and carbon credits, in line with trading strategies.
• Monitor market developments, news, and price movements to identify trading opportunities and manage risk exposure.
• Develop and implement trading strategies to maximize profitability while adhering to risk management policies.
• Analyze market data, economic indicators, and geopolitical events to forecast price trends and market behavior.
• Maintain strong relationships with brokers, counter parties, and other market participants.
• Report on trading performance, market analysis, and risk positions to senior management on a regular basis.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in commodity trading, preferably within the energy sector.
• Proven track record of successful trading and risk management in volatile markets.
• Strong understanding of energy commodity markets , derivatives, and trading platforms.
• Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and make decisive actions in fast-paced trading environments.
