About the Role
Our client seeks a talented Machine Learning Engineer with a specialization in Natural Language Processing (NLP) to join their advanced analytics team in Richards Bay . You will be instrumental in developing and deploying sophisticated NLP models to extract insights from large volumes of text data, powering features like intelligent search, sentiment analysis, and chatbots. This role requires a strong foundation in ML principles, NLP techniques, and software engineering best practices.
You will collaborate with data scientists and product teams to embed cutting-edge NLP capabilities into various applications, driving innovation and enhancing user experiences. This is an exciting opportunity to work with complex data and develop state-of-the-art AI solutions.
- Design, implement, and optimize NLP models for tasks such as text classification, named entity recognition, topic modeling, and language generation.
- Develop and maintain production-grade NLP pipelines, including data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model deployment.
- Collaborate with data scientists to research and experiment with state-of-the-art NLP techniques and architectures (e.g., Transformers, BERT, GPT).
- Build and integrate NLP services into existing applications and platforms.
- Monitor model performance in production and implement improvements as needed.
- Contribute to the overall machine learning infrastructure and best practices within the team.
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, or a related field with an NLP focus.
- 3+ years of professional experience in developing and deploying NLP models.
- Strong programming skills in Python and proficiency with NLP libraries (e.g., NLTK, Spa Cy, Hugging Face Transformers).
- Experience with deep learning frameworks like Tensor Flow or PyTorch.
- Solid understanding of linguistic principles and modern NLP techniques.
- Experience with cloud platforms and deploying ML models in a production environment is advantageous for this role in Richards Bay .
