Logistics Operations Manager

Our client is looking for a dedicated Logistics Operations Manager to optimize and oversee their supply chain and logistics functions in Richards Bay, Kwa Zulu-Natal . This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient flow of goods, managing transportation, and maintaining strong relationships with logistics partners. You will be responsible for implementing best practices in logistics management, driving cost efficiencies, and ensuring timely delivery to meet customer demands.

The role requires a blend of strategic planning and hands-on management within a dynamic industrial environment, with a hybrid model allowing for both strategic planning and on-site oversight.

• Manage all aspects of the logistics operations, including warehousing, inventory, and transportation.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize the supply chain for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with third-party logistics providers and carriers.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Lead and motivate the logistics team, providing guidance and professional development.
• Monitor logistics performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics and supply chain management , with a focus on operational oversight.
• Proven experience in managing warehouse operations and transportation networks.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience working with 3PL providers .
• Excellent understanding of logistics software and tracking systems.
• Ability to analyze data and implement data-driven improvements in supply chain operations.
