About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Manufacturing Process Engineer to join their operations in Richards Bay, Kwa Zulu-Natal . This role is essential for designing, implementing, and refining manufacturing processes to ensure optimal efficiency, quality, and safety. You will play a key part in analyzing production challenges, developing innovative solutions, and leading projects that enhance overall plant performance. This is a hands‑on position for an engineer passionate about continuous improvement and driving tangible results in a demanding industrial setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for new and existing product lines.
  • Analyze production data to identify root causes of defects, inefficiencies, and safety concerns.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste and improve workflow.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.
  • Collaborate with equipment suppliers and internal teams on the selection, installation, and commissioning of new machinery.
  • Provide technical support to the production team, troubleshooting issues and ensuring smooth operation of manufacturing lines.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, with a strong focus on process optimization.
  • Proven experience with lean manufacturing , Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred), and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Proficiency in CAD software and experience with production planning and control systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable improvements.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively across different departments.
