Chemical Engineer - Plant Operations

Our client seeks a hands-on Chemical Engineer to oversee and optimize plant operations at their facility in Richards Bay . This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient, safe, and environmentally sound production of our chemical products. You will be responsible for process monitoring, troubleshooting, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to maximize output and maintain quality standards. The successful candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with strong operational experience and a commitment to excellence in a plant environment.

• Monitor plant operations, analyze performance data, and identify areas for improvement.
• Troubleshoot process upsets and implement solutions to minimize downtime and ensure product quality.
• Oversee adherence to safety regulations, environmental permits, and company policies.
• Participate in the commissioning and start-up of new equipment and process modifications.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure the reliability and efficiency of plant machinery.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for plant processes.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering .
• At least 5 years of experience in chemical plant operations or a similar industrial setting.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and optimize complex chemical processes.
• Strong understanding of process control systems and instrumentation.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations pertinent to plant operations in Richards Bay .
