Food Quality Controller

A prominent leader within the food manufacturing and processing industry, committed to delivering exceptional quality products and maintaining rigorous safety and regulatory standards.

Conduct routine inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. Ensure strict adherence to all relevant legislation as well as meat industry-specific regulations. Develop and maintain the Food Safety Management System within the facility. Manage internal and external compliance audits. Compile new product specifications, contribute to product development for new lines, and carry out product testing.

Analyse trends and non-conformances to drive continuous improvement. Liaise directly with State Veterinarians. Collect and analyse samples for microbiological, physical, and chemical testing. Maintain accurate records of test results and provide timely reports to management. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve quality issues. Develop and implement quality control procedures and guidelines to improve product consistency. Train and educate employees on quality control processes and procedures.

Monitor and evaluate supplier performance to ensure raw materials meet quality specifications. Stay up to date with industry trends and advances in food safety regulations.

Bachelor's degree or National Diploma in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field. Prior practical experience in food quality control or a similar role. Strong working knowledge of food safety regulations and industry standards. Practical experience with laboratory testing and analysis techniques. Proficient in MS Office applications.
