About the Role

Our client, a major player in the freight and logistics industry, is seeking an experienced Long-Haul Truck Driver for routes originating from Richards Bay. This position is essential for the reliable transportation of goods across long distances, connecting key economic hubs. You will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of cargo, requiring significant time on the road and a commitment to professional driving standards.

This role offers the opportunity to explore different parts of the country while being a vital part of the supply chain in Kwa Zulu-Natal.

• Operate heavy-duty trucks safely and efficiently on long-haul routes.
• Ensure timely and secure delivery of goods to various destinations nationwide.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer.
• Maintain accurate driver logs, including hours of service, mileage, and cargo details.
• Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Manage route planning and make necessary adjustments for optimal performance.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and relevant stakeholders regarding shipment status.

• Valid Code 14 driver's license with a Professional Driver's Permit (PDP).
• Minimum of 5 years of verifiable long-haul truck driving experience.
• Proven ability to handle long hours and extensive travel.
• Excellent driving record with no major violations.
• Strong understanding of truck mechanics and ability to perform basic roadside repairs.
• Reliability, discipline, and strong self-management skills.
• Familiarity with routes in and around Richards Bay and nationwide is a plus.
