Heavy Goods Vehicle; HGV) Driver

About the Role

Our client is looking for a seasoned Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Driver to operate large trucks for freight transportation based out of Richards Bay . This role is critical for the movement of bulk goods and raw materials, playing a key part in the region's industrial and commercial activities. You will be responsible for the safe transport of goods to various destinations, adhering to all transportation regulations and company policies.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience driving large commercial vehicles, a commitment to safety, and the ability to manage long-haul routes efficiently. This position offers stability and a chance to be part of a major logistical operation.

• Operating HGV vehicles safely and responsibly on long-distance routes.
• Conducting thorough inspections of the truck and trailer before and after trips.
• Ensuring that cargo is loaded, secured, and unloaded correctly and safely.
• Adhering to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Maintaining accurate records of delivery times, mileage, and fuel consumption.

• Valid Code 14 driver's license with an excellent driving record.
• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience driving Heavy Goods Vehicles.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and Richards Bay logistics hubs.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude for basic vehicle troubleshooting.
