Logistics Coordinator

About the Role

Our client is looking for a meticulous and organized Logistics Coordinator to join their operations team based in Richards Bay, Kwa Zulu-Natal . This role is essential for ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods within the FMCG supply chain. You will be responsible for coordinating transportation, managing shipments, and liaising with carriers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely deliveries and cost-effective logistics solutions.

This position offers a hands-on opportunity to contribute directly to the operational efficiency of a leading company in a key industrial hub.

• Coordinate and manage the daily logistics operations, including scheduling shipments and tracking deliveries.
• Liaise with transportation providers, suppliers, and customers to ensure timely and cost-effective movement of goods.
• Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading and customs declarations.
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively address any delays or issues that may arise.
• Maintain accurate records of all logistics activities, including inventory levels and shipping costs.
• Optimize transportation routes and methods to reduce costs and improve efficiency.

• High school diploma or equivalent; a relevant diploma or certification in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
• 2-4 years of experience in logistics coordination, preferably within the FMCG sector.
• Strong understanding of transportation regulations and documentation requirements.
• Proficiency in using logistics software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem solving abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with various stakeholders.
