Professional Driver - General Cargo

About the Role

Our client is seeking a reliable and professional Driver to handle the transportation of general cargo within the Richards Bay area and surrounding regions. This role requires an individual with excellent driving skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and a commitment to delivering goods safely and on time. You will be responsible for operating various commercial vehicles, ensuring their maintenance, and adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.

This is a hands-on position vital to maintaining the operational flow of our client’s business, ensuring that clients receive their goods without delay or damage.

• Operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently to transport cargo.
• Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on vehicles before and after each shift.
• Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing and handling procedures are followed.
• Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company driving policies.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle condition.
• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients at delivery points.

• Valid driver's license (Code 10 or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience as a commercial vehicle driver.
• Knowledge of safe driving practices and basic vehicle maintenance.
• Physical ability to lift and move cargo as needed.
• Excellent time management and punctuality.
• Valid PrDP (Professional Driving Permit) is required.
