Heavy Goods Vehicle Driver

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and dependable Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Driver to join their team in Richards Bay . In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods between various locations, primarily focusing on regional distribution. The ideal candidate is committed to safety, possesses excellent driving skills, and understands the importance of efficient route management.

You will work closely with the logistics department to ensure all deliveries are completed according to schedule, contributing to the smooth operation of our client's supply chain. This is a hands-on role requiring physical capability and a strong work ethic.

• Operate a heavy goods vehicle safely and efficiently to transport goods as per delivery schedules.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and report any defects.
• Securely load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and storage of goods.
• Adhere strictly to traffic laws, company safety policies, and transportation regulations .
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and delivery details.
• Provide excellent service to clients and internal stakeholders during transport operations.

• Valid Code 14 driver's license with an up-to-date PrDP (Professional Driving Permit).
• Minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience driving heavy goods vehicles .
• Demonstrated knowledge of safe loading and securing procedures for various types of cargo.
• Familiarity with the Richards Bay and surrounding Kwa Zulu-Natal transport routes.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines.
• A clean driving record and commitment to safety standards.
