Our client is seeking a highly organized and experienced Operations Manager to oversee their FMCG distribution center operations in Richards Bay, Kwa Zulu-Natal . You will be responsible for managing all aspects of warehouse operations, including inventory management, logistics, staff supervision, and ensuring operational efficiency and safety. This role demands strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of warehouse management systems and processes within the FMCG sector.
The ideal candidate will drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize performance and meet the demands of a fast-paced distribution environment.
- Manage day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, order picking, packing, and shipping of FMCG products.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize warehouse layout, workflow, and inventory accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the facility.
- Lead, train, and motivate a team of warehouse staff to achieve operational goals.
- Manage relationships with transportation providers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Implement and maintain warehouse management systems (WMS) for efficient inventory control and tracking.
- Proven experience as an Operations Manager or similar role, preferably in FMCG logistics.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and supply chain principles.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with WMS software and other relevant operational technologies.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse environment.
- A bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is advantageous.
