Job Posting – Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant

Summary:

Administrative and bookkeeping tasks on a part-time schedule for St. Barnabas Presbyterian Church.

Location:

Saint Barnabas Presbyterian Church, 1220 W Belt Line Road, Richardson TX

Schedule:

20-25hrs per week with Tues-Friday, 9am-1pm core hours

Pay Rate: $23-$28/hr, based on experience

Saint Barnabas Presbyterian Church is seeking a part-time bookkeeper and administrative assistant. The ideal candidate will assist the staff and the congregation in keeping the church run smoothly on a day-to-day basis by performing normal office tasks (printing, keeping the calendar, routine email communications) and handling financial operations such as invoicing, payroll records, reports, and reconciliations. Success in the position requires strong attention to detail and ease with common office software (MS Office) and technology.

Experience with non-profit bookkeeping preferred.

Requirements:
  • Prior administrative assistant and bookkeeping experience (2+ years)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience in ACS preferred
  • Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Interact and communicate with congregation members and public
  • Printing, word processing, data entry for staff/church
  • Managing facility calendar and rentals
  • Handling mail and deliveries
  • Updating and completing forms, handling routine tech/website issues, sending and receiving congregants’ communications
  • Compilation of monthly and annual reports
  • Entry and verification of payroll hours and maintenance of payroll records
  • Invoicing and handling of disbursements
  • Record/reconcile receipts and disbursements and close financial books each month
  • Run financial reports and review for changes/issues
