Position SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Manager to oversee safety operations on mission critical and data center construction projects in the DFW area. This role is responsible for implementing, managing, and enforcing the project’s safety programs to ensure a safe working environment in high-risk, high-compliance environments. The ideal candidate has deep experience with OSHA regulations, MEP-heavy construction, and the unique risks associated with mission critical projects.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and manage site-specific safety plans in alignment with company and OSHA standards.
- Conduct daily job site inspections to identify hazards and enforce corrective actions.
- Monitor MEP work activities including electrical, mechanical, and equipment installations for safe work practices.
- Lead daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, and task-specific training sessions.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA, NFPA 70E, and client-specific requirements.
- Conduct and document incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans.
- Maintain and track all safety documentation, including JSAs, permits, inspection reports, and injury logs.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure alignment with project safety protocols and proper use of PPE.
- Lead site orientations and safety onboarding for all workers and visitors.
- Work closely with the project team to review work plans, lift plans, and MOPs to assess risk before execution.
- Manage safety audits and inspections conducted by internal teams, clients, or regulatory agencies.
- Promote a proactive safety culture by recognizing positive safety behaviors and coaching unsafe practices.
- Stay current on safety trends and technology relevant to mission critical environments.
- 5+ years of experience in construction safety management, with at least 2 years on data center or mission critical projects.
- In-depth understanding of MEP systems, high-voltage environments, and live system work protocols.
- OSHA 30 Certification required; CHST, CSP, or equivalent safety certifications strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70E, ANSI, and other applicable safety standards.
- Proven ability to lead safety efforts in fast-paced, multi-trade environments.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and documentation skills.
- Experience with construction safety software and reporting tools (e.g., Procore Safety, EHS platforms).
- CPR/First Aid and fall protection training certifications preferred.
