Assistant / Associate Professor Positions in Systems Engineering
The Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science at The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) invites applications for two faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in Systems Engineering (SYSE). Qualified candidates must have a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate education, and active (or the potential to develop) externally funded research.
The appointment commences for the fall 2026 semester.
Position Description
Minimum
Education and Experience:
A PhD degree or equivalent in Systems Engineering, or a discipline related to Systems Engineering, such as Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics is required prior to employment.
Preferred
Education and Experience:
We are seeking candidates whose teaching and research interests span one or more of the fundamental areas of industrial and systems engineering, including but not limited to: systems architecture, manufacturing, systems management, risk management, and requirements engineering.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence.
- Prepare and teach undergraduate and/or graduate classes.
- Contribute assessment information and data as requested.
- Mentor and/or advise undergraduate and/or graduate students.
- Establish and/or continue an independent line of research.
- Continue to expand professional influence in the academic discipline through research and/or publication.
Essential Qualifications
- A PhD degree or equivalent in Systems Engineering, or a discipline related to Systems Engineering.
- A strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate education, and active (or the potential to develop) externally funded research.
Preferred Qualifications
- Research and teaching interests in one or more of the fundamental areas of industrial and systems engineering.
- A record of accomplishments commensurate with the rank of Associate Professor.
