The Collins Aerospace IPS  in Richardson, TX has an immediate opening for a highly experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to work in Advanced Systems on A-Kit and component electronics product development for defense applications.

The candidate will be responsible for design of A-Kit electrical hardware and associated systems for ground and airborne products & subsystems. The candidate will be performing electrical design, electrical design analysis, implementing design solutions, performing simulations, and performing analysis and testing of associated hardware in a laboratory setting.

* What You Will Do:

*** While maintaining and growing you EE skillset:
* PM&P (Parts, Materials & Process)
* A-Kit (Alpha Kit) development selecting components that the customer approves
* Designing harnesses and cables to integrate into systems including radios, aircraft, and ground C2 systems.
** Qualifications You Must Have:
*** Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience
** or
* * an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
* Experience with power system design and analysis tools (SPICE, SIMPLIS, schematic/layout design software, MATLAB/Simulink, ADS, Hyperlynx PI).
* Experience with schematic capture, block diagrams, and parts lists for complex electronics.
* Experience in testing electronic products using bench power supplies, signal/waveform generators, high-speed oscilloscopes, power supply stability testers, spectrum analyzers, and debugging tools.
* The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain program access after start.” "U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Experience with components selection and SDRL submission.
* Prior Cable, Harnes, and A-Kit design and implementation.
** Qualifications We Prefer:
*** Active possession of an active U.S. government issued Secret or Top Secret clearance.
* Experience designing airborne electronic products with attendant size, weight, power, and cost requirements.
* Electrical design and analysis with current software tools.
* Experience with design of high voltage and high current power conversion circuit assemblies including specification and selection of PCB materials, high voltage/high current transformers, inductors, and FETs, as well as implementing ADCs, DACs, and supporting analog circuits.
* Experience with various switched-mode power supply topologies and modeling.
* Experience with RF components or specifications and creating POL supplies for RF circuitry.
* Ability to handle fast paced and dynamic product development environment.
* Capable technical leader with good management and interpersonal skills.
