As our next Senior Mechanical Engineering Manager and as a member of the Integrated Platforms Hardware department, you will lead a team of 15+ Mechanical Engineers whose charter is to design, develop, test, and deploy mission critical weapon systems for the United States Navy and Air Force. This position is for Richardson, TX.This position reports to the Integrated Platforms Hardware department manager and will be working closely with program management, business development, program chiefs (project engineering) and operations. This team develops designs for both electro-mechanical assemblies as well as the development of system-level modifications on airborne platforms.  

Our teams are responsible for mechanical design solutions for multiple, interconnected equipment which are critical components for the survivable, endurable, reliable airborne command, control and communications platforms required by our customers. We are looking for ambitious individuals, and this leader, who will take pride in their contributions to the defense and security of the United States.
** What You Will Do
*** Conduct project leadership over the entire life cycle including bids, project management, design, requirements capture, integration, verification, and certification
* Provide technical leadership and accountability for team and performance on projects
* Relies on past, proven, technical expertise to drive team solutions for:  mechanical architectures, design, analysis (structural, thermal, mass properties, and environmental), and requirement development for systems of varying complexity
* Participate as a management focal, responsible for hiring plans and staffing support of several programs supported in the business unit
* Remain cognizant of, as well as guide team members on, the management of scope, schedule, and budget for mechanical engineering activities; candidate must be well versed in using Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
* Must be able to lead, review, and provide guidance to team members on bid and proposal activities for pursuits
* Demonstrate a passion for coaching and mentoring
* Identify, recruit, retain, and develop engineering talent across the spectrum of entry-level to very experienced Mechanical Engineers
* Build and leverage networks within the department and across Raytheon Technologies
* Communicate well with a wide variety of individuals including Engineering, Program Management, internal leadership, and customers
* Strives to spend 50% of week performing technical tasks and project coaching, remaining time spent on people management, staffing, and career development
