Job Description

A multidisciplinary and well‑trusted Texas engineering firm is hiring an MEP Engineer / Inspector to support evaluations of electrical and mechanical systems across Texas and surrounding states. From storm damage and electrical outages to mechanical breakdowns and safety concerns, their work blends field inspection, hands‑on technical expertise, and detailed reporting that stands up in litigation. This role combines field work, troubleshooting, system testing, and professional engineering analysis.

The right candidate is naturally curious, confident in digging into complex failures, and motivated by work where accuracy and accountability matter.

MEP Engineer / Inspector Responsibilities:

  • Perform on‑site inspections of damaged or distressed electrical and mechanical systems
  • Diagnose root causes of failures
  • Conduct system testing using technical equipment and assessment tools
  • Review drawings, specifications, and supporting documentation to validate findings
  • Write detailed, defensible reports used for insurance claims and legal cases
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining deadlines and quality standards
  • Travel to client sites for day trips and occasional overnight or same‑day fly‑out assignments
  • Support and mentor junior engineers or technicians as needed

MEP Engineer / Inspector Requirements:

  • Practical experience evaluating and troubleshooting MEP system failures
  • Comfortable with field work, boots on the ground assessments in damaged environments
  • Strong technical writing skills and ability to clearly communicate complex findings
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic testing equipment
  • Ability to travel as the project demands
  • Experience supporting insurance or litigation‑related investigations preferred
  • Experience training or leading field personnel preferred
  • Strong documentation and organization skills preferred
