Senior Applications Engineer
As a Senior Applications Engineer, you will enable business growth and customer adoption of ASML’s advanced lithography solutions by leveraging your technical expertise and industry knowledge in a collaborative environment. You will provide solutions to complex lithography application challenges, focusing on optimizing ASML scanner performance and enhancement options. Using your experience and analytical skills, supported by a global ASML network, you will identify opportunities to improve on-product performance and troubleshoot issues related to ASML’s product portfolio in close collaboration with customers.
This role offers significant scope and impact, providing opportunities to deepen technical expertise or advance into leadership roles.
Responsibilities- Participate and/or lead projects which are aimed at supporting our customer transition to a new technology node or ramp up a specific technology node.
- Own work streams within a larger project and develop and drive autonomously a project plan and chase a successful execution with regular updates to relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- Define (on-product) experiments and join customers in experimentation to ensure that they are performed in an efficient manner for accuracy and demonstrate ASML’s product value.
- Define and conduct (on-product) data analysis to ensure that the correct conclusions are drawn from customers acquired experimental data and results reported to ASML and customer.
- Translate a customer on-product issue into a potential lithography or metrology related problem statement, resolve these issues to help them maximize the performance and use of ASML products.
- Meet with internal and external stakeholders to maintain two‑way level of commitment to keep all involved and affected parties informed of progress.
- Prepare technical presentations for customer meetings, provide new user support, and assist sales.
- Master’s degree or PhD in a technical discipline.
- Minimum 8 years work experience in a similar role.
- Minimum 5 years experience within the semiconductor or manufacturing industry.
- Minimum 5 years experience with utilizing MATLAB, Python, JMP, or similar software.
- Minimum 3 years experience in data analysis and analyzing technical data to summarize and present findings.
- Extensive experience with stakeholder and change management.
- Must have strong organizational, communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Detail‑oriented individuals with strong critical thinking, problem‑solving and follow‑up skills.
- Fast learner with strong self‑motivation to grow technically; able to perform job at high standard with minimum supervision and demonstrated ability to thrive in a high‑pressure and fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize and organize actions effectively and efficiently.
- Basic project management skills.
- Self‑starter that shows high drive, creativity, ambition and accountability.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with different stakeholders internally (Account Team, Business Development Managers, Project team, VHV headquarters, etc.) and external customers.
- Up to 10% travel is included in the job for training and cross‑site support.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
