Location: Richardson, TX
Salary: $60.00 USD Hourly - $65.00 USD Hourly
DescriptionOur client is currently seeking a Long Distance (LD) Transport Engineer.
Job DutiesThe Transport Engineer will be responsible for monitoring, planning, implementation, testing and turn-up of Long Distance (LD) Ultra Long Haul (UHL) transport network.
Must Have Skills- Experience in the telecommunications industry
- Technical knowledge of long-distance, ultra-long haul and OTN mesh networks
- Equipment knowledge specific to SONET/SDH, ULH, OTN mesh and WDM transport
- Vendor specific knowledge:
Ciena, Infinera, Fujitsu and varied long haul networks - System knowledge: BGW or Granite (XNG), CoFEE (Canvas), Nautilus, ICON, CCP, Venue, 3
GIS/FIMS - Job requirements specific to engineering and design of ultra‑long haul transport
- Experience managing complex processes and driving results
- Experience with Windows‑based programs and corporate database systems
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical field or relevant experience
- Five or more years of telecom work experience
