As a Controller at Matilda Cloud, you will play a critical role in ensuring end-to-end accounting operations, strengthening financial controls, and driving process automation. Skilled in managing month-end close, audits, and compliance while partnering with finance leadership to build scalable systems and deliver accurate insights for strategic decision-making.

• Own core accounting operations — lead the monthly close, prepare reconciliations, and manage AP, AR, billing, and payroll to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
• Strengthen processes and controls — establish scalable accounting policies, implement best practices, and maintain compliance across reporting, tax, and audit requirements.
• Be hands‑on and solutions‑oriented — roll up your sleeves to execute journal entries, billing runs, and reconciliations while driving improvements in systems and workflows.
• Partner with finance leadership — collaborate closely with the VP of Finance on building a best‑in‑class finance function, providing accurate data and insight to support decision‑making and long‑term growth.
• Own the effective and efficient execution of the order‑to‑cash process – collaborate closely with sales and operations to understand billing milestones and effective execution against OTC processes.
• Lead the company through its first audit - coordinate and manage activities of external auditors.
• Build a finance technology platform to encourage automation - evaluate the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting systems, as needed.
• Manage offshore bookkeeping resource.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
• 5+ years of experience as a Controller or in a similar financial leadership role
• Strong understanding of financial regulations and GAAP compliance requirements including ASC
  606
• Experience in SaaS, Managed services or other recurring revenue business
• Experience in using, implementing and enhancing Quickbooks, Rillet, Ramp and other core accounting systems
• Excellent problem‑solving skills
• Effective communication and leadership abilities
• Experience working in a growth equity or private equity backed software company
• Advanced proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel
