CT Technologist
In this role, you will ensure patient safety and conduct high‑quality CT studies, while maintaining effective communication with customers, including radiologists. You may also train new technologists and patient coordinators.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure patient safety, including pre‑screening for contraindications to radiation and contrast injections, and use aseptic injection techniques.
- Produce high‑quality diagnostic images.
- Communicate effectively with customers and/or radiologists.
- Train new technologists and/or patient coordinators.
- Troubleshoot the scanner, coach, and all peripheral equipment (including monitors, PACS, etc.).
- High school diploma or equivalent experience; associate’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Registered Computed Tomography Technologist (ARRT).
- If allowable by state, certification by the NMTCB in Computed Tomography is acceptable in lieu of ARRT registry.
- State license.
- Licensed in Medical Imaging, if applicable.
- CPR certification.
- Technologists performing mid‑day moves.
- Active State Driver’s License.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Organizational and multitasking skills.
- Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
- COVID‑19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.
- Successful completion of a pre‑employment background check and drug screen as a condition of employment.
The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit and may be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
- More than 50% of the time:
- Sit, stand, walk.
- Repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs.
- See, speak and hear to communicate with patients.
- Less than 50% of the time:
- Stoop, kneel or crawl.
- Climb and balance.
- Carry and lift (ability to move non‑ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or to exam).
