About the Program
This program supports modernization and sustainment efforts for mission‑critical systems within a secure government environment. The Senior Platform Engineer will join an Agile product team responsible for designing, implementing, and upgrading Linux‑based infrastructure in support of defense operations. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in traditional infrastructure design
, Linux server administration
, and modern Dev Ops/Dev Sec Ops technologies
, bridging on‑premise and emerging automated environments.
This position is on‑site in Richardson, TX
, within a Secure Compartmented Integration Facility (SCIF) and may require occasional travel (up to 10%) for customer support or on‑call operations.
The Senior Platform Engineer will support the design, development, and modernization of compute, network, and storage systems
, maintaining legacy infrastructure while introducing automation and efficiency through modern tools. The role involves Linux system administration, scripting, and infrastructure automation to maintain system consistency, improve configuration management, and support future technology evolution.
- Leverage company and industry best practices to design and implement infrastructure solutions for secure environments.
- Maintain existing systems using Linux‑based tools, ensuring consistent configuration and performance.
- Manage and update COTS software stacks across Linux platforms to meet evolving program requirements.
- Develop, test, and maintain automation and scripting solutions using Bash, Python, or similar tools.
- Support system modernization initiatives, implementing infrastructure‑as‑code (IaC) methodologies with tools such as Ansible and Terraform
. - Provide project updates and participate in Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs) to ensure alignment with program milestones.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Physics
, or related STEM field. - 5+ years of related work experience in Linux infrastructure engineering or system administration.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance required on day one (U.S. citizenship required).
- Hands‑on experience with Linux operating systems (RHEL preferred).
- Strong scripting experience in Bash, Python, Java, Perl, Ruby, or Tcl/Tk
. - Familiarity with markup and configuration languages (
YML, XML, JSON
). - Experience with automation and CI/CD tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, and Bitbucket
. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
- Experience deploying, maintaining, and integrating software in secure or production environments.
