RTX has an opening for an Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Engineer position to support, optimize and scale our Active Virtual Desktop environment.

• Deploy, configure, and manage Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) host pools, work spaces, and session hosts
• Implement and maintain FSLogix profile containers using Azure Files or Net App
• Optimize AVD performance and user experience through image management and autoscaling
• Configure Azure networking components (VNet, NSG, firewalls) for secure AVD access
• Monitor and troubleshoot AVD sessions, user profiles, and application delivery
• Collaborate with security teams to apply hardening policies and compliance controls
• Automate routine tasks using Power Shell, ARM templates, or Bicep
• Maintain documentation and contribute to knowledge base for AVD operations
• Support integration with Microsoft 365, Teams, and third‑party applications
• Participate in incident response and root cause analysis for AVD‑related issues

• Minimum of 8+ years’ experience in IT infrastructure or cloud engineering and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or related discipline;
  Advanced degree and at least 5+ years of related experience preferred.
• Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop
• Experience with Azure PaaS, Active Directory, and FSLogix
• Experience with Power Shell scripting and infrastructure‑as‑code
• Current U.S. citizenship is required.

• Familiarity with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and diagnostics tools
• Understanding of ITIL processes and ticketing systems (e.g., Service Now)

Employees may be expected to travel to the site location as needed 2‑3 days a week. Location options include Andover, MD;
Farmington, CT;
Richardson, TX; or Tucson, AZ.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD – 203,000 USD. This U.S.–based role will apply the appropriate pay structure and benefits for the successful candidate.
