Halff is seeking a talented and innovative GIS ETL Developer to contribute to the development and administration of our Enterprise GIS Platform. The GIS ETL Developer will collaborate closely with the GIS team to support end-to-end geospatial workflows, ETL processes, application development, and content distribution across various business practices and client services. This role involves assessing, developing, integrating, and troubleshooting GIS and data transformation technology and applications to support business processes.
The GIS ETL Developer will provide technical or functional guidance to project teams within multiple practices, ensuring the reliability, performance, security, advancement, and continuity of the GIS platform.

What you will do:- Design and implement robust ETL processes using FME Flow (Server) and FME Form (Workbench) to enhance data integrations and conversions, streamlining tasks and improving productivity.
- Utilize scripting languages (Phyton, Dynamo, FME, etc.) for custom data transformations, enhancing complex workflows, and improving overall productivity.
- Integrate data from various sources, including databases, CADD & GIS systems, spreadsheets, and web services, using FME's extensive connectors and transformers.
- Collaborate with the Sr. ArcGIS Administrator to design, maintain, and architect scalable GIS solutions aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices.
- Create user documentation, tutorials, and best practice guidelines for GIS workflows.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement performance‑tuning strategies to optimize the ArcGIS Enterprise and AGOL platforms.
- Collaborate with cross‑practice teams to identify GIS opportunities and provide geospatial insights for decision‑making processes.
- Stay updated with the latest GIS trends, technologies, and advancements to propose innovative solutions and improvements to existing systems.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance GIS workflows, user experience, and overall efficiency.
- Minimum of four years' experience with ETL tools, concepts, and processes (data migration/translation, database conversion, data warehousing, data mining, or data analysis).
- BS or AAS degree from an accredited institution in Geospatial, Information Technology, Applied Science, or a related field.
- Proven expertise in FME Form (Workbench) and FME Flow (Server) for data transformation.
- Experience in managing and administering ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise (Server, Portal, and Data Store).
- Experience with developing web map applications.
- Experience with administering ArcGIS mobile applications.
- Ability to understand diverse project requirements and interpret user stories.
- Experience with SQL for database interactions (MS SQL, Oracle, Postgre
SQL, etc.). - Solid understanding of CADD (Autodesk & Bentley) and the Esri ArcGIS platform.
- Experience using programming or scripting APIs:
Python, C#, PHP, NodeJS, JavaScript, and Dynamo for data manipulation and transformation. - Familiarity with Bentley & Autodesk AEC tools and Esri ArcGIS tools.
- Familiarity with one or more DSO tools like Git Lab, Azure Dev Ops, or Git Hub.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and collaborative environments.
- Comprehensive knowledge of GIS theory and practices, as well as general principles and practices of enterprise information technology systems and structures.
- Advanced ArcGIS skills.
Skills:
- Experience in asset inventory, lifecycle management, and data‑driven reporting for utility operations.
- Knowledge of mobile field data collection applications and Esri enterprise GIS solutions.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and best practices in utility infrastructure management.
