Position Description

Set up or devise standard or automated test equipment to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production assemblies. Analyze test results and repair or adjust assemblies according to analysis. Recommend corrections and improvements to test procedures to simplify testing and/or assembly processes.

Major Responsibilities
  • Conduct functional tests to measure the performance of production electronic systems, assemblies, and sub‑assemblies.
  • Test commercial and complex (mil‑spec) electronic assemblies with pre‑production or prototype documentation.
  • Compare test results with specifications and accurately record test data.
  • Analyze defective units to determine root cause of failure.
  • Help develop processes, tooling and fixtures as required.
  • Ensure that all test equipment calibration requirements are maintained.
  • Effectively manage time and complete all tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Experience / Technical Requirements
  • Associate’s Degree, Post‑Secondary Certificate or equivalent military training in Electronics Engineering Technology or related field.
  • 5+ years experience testing, maintaining, and/or repairing electronic assemblies, preferably in a production environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of analog and RF theory, microprocessor‑based, and mixed‑signal circuits.
  • Ability to interpret and use wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering work instructions.
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot defective units to the component level.
  • Proficiency in general test equipment (Oscilloscopes, function generators, DMMs, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Windows‑based computer programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Hand‑soldering and rework experience highly desirable.
  • General understanding of printed wiring assembly production desirable but not required.
Qualifications
  • Ability to distinguish colors and perceive depth.
  • Ability to use magnification aids such as binocular microscopes and related test equipment.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools.
  • Ability to comfortably lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Work at a steady pace under close supervision.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work alternate shifts and overtime as necessary.
