Infrastructure Engineer
Volt is immediately hiring for a Infrastructure Engineer in Richardson, TX.
OverviewAs an Infrastructure Engineer you will be involved with development, implementation of traditional compute, networking and storage systems, and related deployments, as well as supporting improvement of the program platform’s overarching design through emerging technologies. This includes existing operating systems, current server hardware designs, and the design and development of new modernized system architectures.
What You Will Do- Leverage company and industry best practices to develop and communicate implementation of infrastructure solutions.
- Maintain existing systems through Linux‑based tools and manage the COTS stack to support program needs.
- Assist with integration of the selected platform provisioning tool such as VMware.
- Ensure that the COTS stack and versioning are consistent across the platform and work with the team to make updates as necessary.
- Travel to customer sites to assist in system updates and deliveries when necessary.
This is a Contract opportunity for 12 months

Security Clearance – Active TS/SCI Clearance
Qualifications- BS/BA in a STEM field (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or Physics) and 5+ years of related work experience.
- Experience with Agile Development Methodologies (e.g., Scrum, SAFe).
- Experience with VMware.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, Ruby, Bash, C++, C#, Go.
- Experience with Linux LDAP for creating Linux‑based accounts and managing roles and permissions.
- Experience with Linux Bash scripting for task automation and management of existing scripts.
- Experience with modernization technologies such as Chef, Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker, Rancher, etc.
- Experience with system hardening.
- Experience with AWS technologies.
- Experience with Cisco IOS, fiber switches, Cisco server hardware, and firewall implementation.
- Current Security Plus certification or obtain within 90 days of onboarding.
Pay rate: $80–$90/hr (scale based on education, experience, location, duties, and certifications).
