Base pay range$29.35/hr – $34.35/hr
Responsibilities- Perform various calibrations on RF, electrical, mechanical, ESD, and optical equipment.
- Ensure calibrations meet quality standards and support quality audits.
- Calibrate tools, inspection, test, and factory equipment per industry and company policies.
- Calibrate equipment, tools, and instruments across four factories:
Optical Fabrication, Diamond Point Turning, Optical Coating, and Assembly/Test. - Collaborate with experienced equipment technicians to support calibration activities.
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience calibrating tools, instruments, and equipment in a production or factory environment.
- Experience calibrating RF, electrical, mechanical, ESD, or optical equipment.
- Lab and asset management systems experience for calibration tracking.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; can interface with multiple disciplines and job functions.
- Mathematical aptitude for SI units, derived units, multipliers, and conversions.
- Understanding of traceability standards and hierarchy.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting and ability to read electrical schematics.
- Well‑organized, proactive, with strong time management; able to work well with others and on teams.
- Manager’s note: significant hands‑on calibration experience or relevant certification (e.g., ASQ‑CCT) considered highly important.
- ASQ‑CCT or similar certification.
- Demonstrated initiative, persistence, and creativity in problem solving.
- Prior experience with optics, optical alignment, or optical test equipment.
- Excellent oral and written communications with minimal supervision.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
- Knowledge of the optics industry.
- Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced dynamic environment.
- Team player; can work overtime on occasion.
Standing and walking:
Ability to stand and move between work areas for extended periods during calibration activities. Manual dexterity:
Frequent use of hands, fingers, and tools to handle, adjust, or calibrate precision instruments and small components. Lifting and carrying:
Must be able to lift, move, and position equipment or components weighing up to 25–40 pounds occasionally. Vision requirements:
Must have close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus for inspecting, measuring, and calibrating optical and electronic devices. Fine motor coordination:
Required for handling delicate optical and electronic equipment. Bending, stooping, reaching:
Occasional reaching above shoulder height or below waist level to access tools, equipment, or test benches. Work environment:
Exposure to standard manufacturing conditions including noise, mechanical parts, and use of safety equipment such as safety glasses and ESD protection.
